EXPO
During High Tea Festeaval, Melkweg EXPO will host a thought-provoking exhibition about skateboard culture and feminism. Skateboard culture is globally associated with freedom, creativity, and bold self-expression, values that have also defined drum & bass as a genre. Yet both the skate world as well as drum & bass remain largely male-dominated. For female and queer skaters, DJ’s and producers, this often results in limited visibility, restricted access to space, and a persistent sense of exclusion. By combining visual storytelling, interviews and creative works, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on gender inclusion, equality, and power dynamics.
THE SENA TALENT STAGE
In collaboration with Sena, Melkweg and HIGH TEA are presenting a talent stage in the UP this year. Dutch Drum & Bass talent will be given a platform here to develop and progress towards a bigger stage. Keep an eye on our socials: We’ll be announcing these artists soon.
CINEMA PROGRAMME
16:15–17:50 | Raving Iran (2016)
This documentary follows Iranian DJs Anoosh and Arash, who organise illegal raves and produce electronic music in Tehran while constantly having to evade police and censorship. When their activities become too dangerous, they attempt to escape the repressive situation in Iran through an opportunity to perform abroad.
18:15–19:15 | Rotterdam Rave Culture: 30 Years of Heritage (2025)
This film explores three decades of rave culture in Rotterdam, a city that became globally known in the 1990s for gabber and hard rave. Through stories from people within the scene, the documentary shows how both the city and its rave culture have evolved, while the collective energy of the dancefloor continues to endure.
19:30–19:45 | Lost Club Culture
This short film by Bexy Cameron uses archival footage to bring the British rave and club scene of the late 1980s and 1990s back to life. It shows how clubs and ravers created a community built on love, diversity and freedom during a time of political and social tension.
19:45–21:15 | Rave Culture: A New Era (2025)
This documentary dives into the origins of the rave movement in late-1980s England, where young people gathered in abandoned factories and open fields for illegal breakbeat raves. Featuring archive footage and interviews with pioneers such as The Prodigy and Orbital, the film shows how this underground scene grew into a global cultural revolution that gave rise to genres such as jungle and drum & bass.

🌭Food
At the side quest area you can find snacks and a hotdog stand to recharge your energy. For bigger eaters, you are allowed to leave and re-enter Melkweg for a meal nearby in the city. Mind you, once you leave and re-enter Melkweg, you’ll have to go through security checks again. Food and drinks from outside are not allowed inside. This means it might take you longer to get back inside when you take a break from the event. We understand if this a little bit inconvenient for some of you, but due to renovations of the Melkweg kitchen, this is the best and easiest solution for everyone.
🚪Door Policy
Doors open at 15:00
Doors stay open all day.
Keep your ID card and ticket ready while you’re waiting in line. Try not to bring any bags, this will make the security check go way smoother, so everyone will be inside faster! The entry line can be long, so make sure to arrive on time to not miss your favourite artist. Going outside and re-entering the Melkweg is possible.
🛟 Safetea
We want everyone to have a good time and feel at home at our events. Feeling unsafe? Do not hesitate and head to the bar or security straight away and tell them you need help. The employees of the Melkweg will assist in any way possible.
😌 Period products
At HIGH TEA Indoor Festival, we’ve made sure period products are available at the toilets to support anyone who might need them. We want everyone to feel comfortable and able to enjoy the event without any worries.
